WHAT: The Ohio Fair Trade Expo will feature speakers and workshops for members of faith communities, high school and college students, and fair trade advocates discussing the Fair Trade movement in Ohio. As part of the Expo, more than twenty vendors from across the state will also participate in a Fair Trade Market, that includes clothing, food, and drink products.
The Expo is intended to be an educational event that will empower consumers to become advocates for fair trade by raising regional awareness of the concept as an important and viable business model.
For more information about the Ohio Fair Trade Expo, including a schedule and online pre-registration, please visit: www.ohiofairtrade.com. Fair Trade is an alternative way of doing business that promotes equal, sustainable international relationships between consumers and producers. This includes paying fair wages in local communities, engaging in environmentally sustainable practices, and promoting health[y] working conditions. These trading partnerships are based on relationships of mutual respect. There are many fair trade products: crafts, clothing, jewelry, coffee, bananas, and chocolate.
