So Long, Summer: Parade of the Dresses We Loved

With summer coming to a close and our favorite season fast approaching (Fall, we could not love your trendy sweaters more if we tried), we are offering you a parade of our must have summer dresses.  However, if you love these dresses as much as we do, you’ll find a way to keep them fresh for fall.  Simply pair with a fair trade cardigan and leggings, and you’re good to go.  Check back soon for our tribute to autumn and all the cooler weather clothes that have us pining.

Hope you enjoyed the parade!

Bookends With Character: Tara Projects’s Palewa Owls

“This pair of wise sitting owls can hold your books in place or just decorate your shelf. Hand-carved and etched bookends are made from palewa, a dark, Indian soapstone used for carving.”

We are absolutely loving Tara Projects’s Palewa Owl Bookends (available at  Ten Thousand Villages and SERRV).  The perfect gift for a reader, teacher, or owl enthusiast. (Sara the Tea Lady is all three.)  But really, who wouldn’t want these charming fellows holding up their hardbacks?

We’re also super impressed by the TARA Projects organization, which “was established in 1973 to defend the rights of the poor. Beginning in Delhi, the organization expanded to adjoining states of North India, working to eliminate unfair trade practices and child labor, fighting exploitation of artisans and supporting fair trade and human dignity.”
